The country’s highest civilian award - The Bharat Ratna - which was presented to J.R.D. Tata in March 1992 for his great contribution in the building of a modern India. The Award was presented by the former President of India, R. Venkataraman. |

J.R.D. Tata received the Daniel Guggenheim Medal Award in Seattle, Washington, from John H. Enders, President of the Flight Safety Foundation and Chairman, 1988 Daniel Guggenheim Medal Board of Award. The Daniel Guggenheim Medal was created for the purpose of honouring persons who make notable achievements in the advancement of aeronautics. |

J.R.D. Tata received the prestigious United Nations Population Award for 1992 from the Secretary General of the United Nations, from Buotrous Boutrous-Ghali, at the UN Headquaters in New York in September 1992. |

J.R.D. Tata was presented the Edward Warner Award, the highest honour bestowed by the International Civil Aviation Community, in Montreal, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to international civil aviation and pioneering efforts in establishing and developing civil aviation in India. |
