Among the most valuable items in the Archives:
(Above) Here’s the interesting anecdote: This
attire belonged to JN Tata. It was contributed
by Noshir Dastoor, whose grandfather was a
caretaker of Esplanade House (JN Tata’s residence).
To authenticate the attire, he also presented a
photograph of JN Tata to TR Doongaji. $
(Right) In 1939, to commemorate the birth
centenary of JN Tata, the Empress Mills
commissioned a portrait of the Founder woven
in cloth. This portrait of JN Tata was designed
by Burjor Byramji Desai, Weaving Master of the
Empress Mills. $
