From Rail to Road

This special exhibition commemorated the completion of 60 years of Tata Motors Ltd. Ravi Kant, Managing Director, Tata Motors Ltd. inaugurated the exhibition on October 17, 2005 at Tata Central Archives, Pune.

The exhibition took viewer on an eventful journey exploring the growth and evolution of the company that started with the production of armoured vehicles and steam locomotives. It soon became India's fully integrated automobile manufacturer.

The exhibition panels showcase the inception of the company; Its entry into armoured cars, road rollers, railways, locomotives, etc.; Its diversification into road transport, earth moving equipment, automotive excellence; Tie-up with various companies including Daimler Benz; Manufacturing plants in Pune and other cities; Its Subsidiaries and Milestones. Human resource development; Corporate Social responsibilities: Environment, Telco colony, welfare, schools;
